Timothy and Nancy Kellers’ Songs of Jesus, Psalm 52:5-9 and Psalm 53.

Timothy and Nancy Kellers’ Songs of Jesus, Psalm 52:5-9 and Psalm 53.

Lectio was tinged with sadness and affirmation today. Our youngest grandchildren and their parents are here in Myrtle Beach and we have to maintain social distancing. We had a picnic together today but we couldn’t hold them in our arms or even get close enough to hear what they were saying. The sadness broke loose during lectio and I simply grieved.

Jesus graced contemplatio with an image of His hand resting on my bowed head. The breath prayer granted earlier, a combination of Psalm 53:1a and 52:8b, “The fool says, ‘There is no God . . . but . . . I trust in the unfailing love of God for ever and ever,’”  restored joyful worship and adoration. I felt grief, comfort and peace. A smorgasbord of emotion. An experience of our sweet, living God.

Blessings,

Cheri
