Timothy and Nancy Kellers’ Songs of Jesus, Psalm 69:1-6

June 1, 2020

Rick and I are preparing to give our joint testimony as part of a Sunday morning service at our home church, Ignite Myrtle Beach under the guidance of our pastor, Jim Neece. We have been fasting and praying for Holy Spirit guidance for some time now, faced quite a few delays and worked through important relationship issues, learning how to love, honor and trust God more deeply than ever. We are experiencing a deeper unity with Christ that in turn empowers a deeper unity with one another. Adonai Yahweh Elyon, You are so good to us!

God gave Rick and I almost the same breath prayer from today’s reading. For Rick it was vs. 5, ‘For You, God know my folly; my guilt is not hidden from You.” God added vs. 6b, ‘Adonai, Yahweh Elyon, may those who seek You not be put to shame because of me.” David’s context speaks of his enemies’ unjust persecution. He admits he is a sinful human being, and pleads with God not to let his own sinfulness dishonor God or those who truly seek God.

Rick and I will be speaking clearly and plainly about our addictions and co-addictions. We know that some will leave a church that supports a ministry like ours. Some will stay in the church but reject us. Some may leave for a while and return later. Some will stay because they see themselves in Rick and I. They will stay because they will want for themselves what God has done for us. It is for them we testify. Neither God, Rick and I, nor those who seek will be put to shame. Praise the only God!

Blessings,

Cheri
