I know I said I would blog only once a week because of pressing ministry needs. The Kellers’ referral to the Samaritan woman at the well is well taken and valid, but please read the story of Absalom and David in 2 Samuel chapters 13 -17. It is a story of parental failure and filial betrayal. We cannot understand the depth of David’s commitment to God when he says in vs. 3, ’. . . Your love is better than life,’ unless we know the context of this Psalm. So please read it. Blessings, Cheri

Timothy and Nancy Kellers’ Songs of Jesus, Psalm 64:7-10
Vs.10b, “The upright in heart will glory in him [You].” I am the upright in heart through the gift of faith. Only by the sheer love of God am I given this gift of faith. Always and forever God’s love is His glory and His love for me is my Glory.
The safety of this unimaginable love enables me to face any crisis with confidence. David prays from the context of very real, pressing armies seeking his life. We pray from the context of spiritual armies arrayed against us as individuals and as a nation, seeking through events like 911, the liberal political agenda, and this current Covid19 pandemic to strip us away from God. But remember the horses and chariots of fire that encircled the Syrian armies about to overrun the city of Dothan where Elisha the prophet of God lived (2 Kings 6:8-17)! There is no reason for fear!
Blessings,
Cheri
