Cheri likes to say laughingly, that in a former lifetime she was a singer. She holds an AA, BM and MA all in Vocal Performance to prove it. Later in her life, Cheri experienced God’s call to serve Him whole-heartedly. She pursued that calling and went back to school at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina to figure it all out. She graduated May 11th, 2018, receiving a Master of Divinity degree in Biblical Counseling. She has completed two units of Clinical Pastoral Education, one at Conway Medical Center through the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychology and the second at McLeod Regional Medical Center through the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education.
She has been sponsoring individuals and couples in the Recovery Community since 2008 and counseling biblically since 2013. She and her husband, Rick, have facilitated a Recovering Couples Anonymous group since March of 2014. Passionately interested in seeing people set free and transformed from the inside out through the Gospel of grace and the power of God’s incomparable love, Cheri’s greatest pleasure in life is seeing people come into a real encounter with the living Triune God. She counsels the whole person; mind, body, and soul in the areas of addiction (behavioral as well as substance, i.e. sexual addiction, alcoholism, food addiction, etc.), co-addiction/co-dependency, childhood abuse, identity, forgiveness, grief, depression, end of life/dying, family and marriage.
Residing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with husband, Rick, they have three adult married children with five grandchildren and a sixth on the way, all of whom reside outside the state of South Carolina. Her interests are getting together with family, playing with the grandchildren, reading, movies, leisure biking, and spending quality time with husband Rick.
